The Dynamic Fabric of the Universe
When we observe two objects that are accelerated toward each other due to gravity, it is usually only the two objects that are seen and taken into consideration. This is understandable because it is sometimes difficult for our minds to see what our eyes cannot. The fabric of the universe is something that we cannot see with our eyes, but can see clearly with our minds, by considering its effects upon visible things.
We can see that light travels through the universe at 186,282 miles per second, always moving outward, away from its source. We can also see that gravity acts through the universe at 186,282 miles per second, always acting inward, toward matter. These similarities and inverse similarities are not coincidence. They are evidence that gravity and the propagation of light are caused by the same thing, and that thing is the fabric of the universe, which is in motion in straight lines and in every direction, at 186,282 miles per second.
Along with the similarities between gravity and the propagation of light, inertia is another phenomenon that helps us to see the dynamic fabric of the universe. By considering inertia we can see that the fabric of the universe is dynamic and that it acts upon all matter equally regardless of its velocity or spatial location. Everything is always in equilibrium relative to the fabric of the universe. Therefore, to make changes in an object’s velocity, changes in the fabric of the universe must occur. These changes require a certain quantity of force, that is always equal to the object’s acceleration times its mass, per Sir Isaac Newton’s second law of motion. By this we can see that inertia is not a property of matter, but a property of the dynamic fabric of the universe that we experience through matter.
Once one is able to recognize the dynamic fabric of the universe, it becomes clear that this single force is responsible for everything.
